I
started to get into computer games around the MS-DOS Snake
era. Ever since then I have loved them and been playing
them, taking a little bit from each of them. I got into making
web pages when I was around 14, when I really began to realize
that my endless creativity might come of use. Near the end
of high school my friends introduced me to 3d Studio Max modeling
and I found my niche in video games.
Out
of high school, I knew from the start that I wanted to go
into the video game industry; I researched possible schools
and chose to attend one of the few in the country that were
offering Bachelor Degrees in Multimedia - UAT
- University of Advancing Technology. I am currently a senior
in the Bachelors of Multimedia program with emphasis in Game
Design and Digital Animation. In the school, I have animated,
modeled, textured, level designed, studied general studies,
had a crash course in Architecture, participated in MODs,
and experienced college.
My
Bio from the COR
website reads:
"Level
designers are often credited with merging all of the core
gameplay, and for Jason Reiss, this is no exception. Working
from conceptualization to a polished map, Jason creates levels
that are both fun to play and beautiful to the eye.
Creativity
has always been one of Jason’s strongest qualities,
so his choice to design computer games is perfect for his
future. His pursuing a degree in Game Design and Digital
Art is only logical. Once he graduates, he hopes strong
art and design skills will get him a job in the industry.
Jason
has been part of the COR team since its inception. His initial
role as a modeler and texture artist has remained a secondary
position, despite switching to level design. The COR team
provides the perfect atmosphere to foster his potential."
